As a professional in the hair industry, we believe that volunteering is a meaningful way to give back to their community and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
The dedication of Carolina to volunteering in the hair industry is evident through her involvement in various initiatives and events at One Blush Sa
Carolina is honored to serve as a Cut It Out Ambassador. Cut It Out is a vital program dedicated to raising awareness about domestic abuse and providing support to its victims. As an ambassador, Carolina is committed to using her platform as a hairstylist to advocate for those affected by domestic violence.
Since April 2010, I have been actively involved in volunteer work with Buckner International in Peru. As part of this meaningful initiative, I had the privilege of offering free haircuts to the community of Villa Maria del Triunfo. Additionally, we organized an annual collection drive, gathering much-needed food and school supplies for 2,000 families in the same community.
The primary goal of these efforts was to provide essential support and resources to those who are in need. By offering free haircuts, we aimed to enhance their well-being and boost their confidence. Simultaneously, the collection drive for food and school supplies aimed to address the immediate needs of the families, ensuring they had access to necessities and empowering children with the tools for education.
"Projeto Tesourinha" in Mangueira, Rio de Janeiro, is a transformative initiative dedicated to elevating the community through the realm of hairdressing. Offering free services, it boosts resident confidence and well-being. Beyond mere hairdressing, the project provides skills training, paving the way for aspiring hairstylists to find employment or even establish their own businesses. By organizing events, it fosters community unity, while seasoned hairdressers mentor newcomers, instilling deep industry knowledge. At its core, "Projeto Tesourinha" champions community growth, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurial spirit.
June 2011, Carolina had coordinated The Little Scissor project at Caritas Felices Shelter Home in Peru, in partnership with DIRECTV Generation. This impactful initiative brings together a dedicated group of hairstylists who generously offer free haircuts to individuals facing challenging circumstances such as homelessness, domestic violence, or other difficult situations.
Our main objective was to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need, particularly young girls between the ages of 5 and 17. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment within the shelter home, providing support and care to empower these girls to overcome their circumstances and thrive. Our goal is to offer them not only a physical refuge but also emotional support and encouragement, enabling them to build a brighter future for themselves.
